#1 | SOCIAL MEDIA & COMMUNICATIONS INTERN

START DATE: January 14, 2019
END DATE: June 21, 2019

As the SOCIAL MEDIA & COMMUNICATIONS Intern, you will work with ATX Festival Staff to both assist in maintenance and brainstorm strategies for engagement and growth across platforms. Weekly you will perform a variety of tasks driven to grow the ATX brand and voice, including but not be limited to, promoting year round and festival events, increasing followers and audience, and maintaining a regular posting schedule across major platforms leading up to / during ATX Season 8.

Duties:

  • Assist with weekly scheduling, posting, and metric tracking for ATX social accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).
  • Assist with curating/editing the digital ATX newsletter.
  • Maintain and update the ATX App.
  • Work with ATX Team to  formulate social media strategy for ATX accounts leading up to/during the festival and year round events.
  • Help maintain and increase social media engagement with the ATX audience.
  • Work with festival panelists, sponsors, and partners to facilitate social media promotion for ATX events & programming.
  • Update, maintain, and proof the ATX website on a regular basis.
  • Provide general phone/email support for festival attendees, partners, and sponsors.

Applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled as an UNDERGRADUATE student.
  • Be located in Austin for the duration of the internship.
  • Have at least 15 hours available Mon – Fri, plus evening / weekend flexibility for occasional year-round events.
  • Have increased / flexible availability for the two (2) full weeks prior to the festival (beginning May 18), including weekends.
  • Have FULL availability the week OF the festival (June 3 – 9, 2019).
  • Be able to provide your own transportation.
  • Have a strong interest in social media, and familiarity with basic posting features on all major social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).
  • Have basic knowledge of Adobe Creative suite (particularly Photoshop).
  • Have an overall interest in / appreciation for television and communications!
  • Be willing to brainstorm, collaborate, and problem-solve with Team ATX and fellow interns!

#2 | CONTENT & MEDIA INTERN

START DATE: January 14, 2019
END DATE: June 21, 2019

As the CONTENT & MEDIA Intern, you will work closely with the Festival Coordinator and Tech Coordinator to organize and utilize the ATX media library (photos, video, audio), and create promotional content for both year-round and festival projects. In addition, you may work closely with the Social Media team to support campaigns.

Duties:

  • Maintain & update the ATX Youtube Channel and content site (ATVXP.com).
  • Create shareable clips & graphics for year-round and festival promotion.
  • Organize/maintain archival content.
  • Upload and schedule content for ATX media platforms (includes videos, podcasts, and social media content).
  • Work with the Social Media & Communications Intern and ATX Team to promote original ATX content and share with partners.
  • Assist Tech Coordinator with content tracking / delivery for ATX Season 8.
  • Work with Tech Coordinator and ATX venues to ensure content distribution and screening quality for ATX Season 8.  
  • Provide general phone / email support for festival attendees, partners, and sponsors.

Applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled as an UNDERGRADUATE student.
  • Be located in Austin for the duration of the internship.
  • Have at least 12-15 hours available Mon – Fri, plus occasional evening / weekend flexibility for year-round events.
  • Have increased / flexible availability for the two (2) full weeks prior to the festival (beginning May 18), including weekends.
  • Have FULL availability the week OF the festival (June 3 – 9, 2019).
  • Be able to provide your own transportation.
  • Have an interest in creating, shaping, and editing content which reflects the ATX brand.
  • Have basic experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
  • Have basic technical knowledge of photo/video/audio file formats, iOS operating system, and file storage and transfer platforms (Box, Dropbox, etc).  
  • Have an overall interest in and appreciation for television & creating original content!
  • Be willing to brainstorm, collaborate, and problem-solve with Team ATX and fellow interns!

#3 | FESTIVAL PRODUCTION INTERN

START DATE: January 14, 2019
END DATE: June 21, 2019

As a FESTIVAL PRODUCTION Intern, you will work with our year round and seasonal team leaders to brainstorm, strategize, and execute the event production side of ATX Season 8. This internship covers a wide and ever-changing range of duties – from programming research, to copy-editing, to physical production — and provides invaluable support to all areas of ATX.

Duties:

  • Provide general phone / email support for festival attendees, partners, and sponsors.
  • Attend & assist with production of local events and year-round programming (January – May).
  • Work with the Office Manager to organize & maintain daily operations at ATX HQ.
  • Programming & vendor research.
  • Communications & outreach with local brands / sponsors / vendors.
  • Contacting talent representatives / agents.
  • Picking up / dropping off festival materials, supplies, etc.
  • Copy editing digital and print materials (program guide, itineraries, website, etc).
  • Work with Festival Coordinator and Director of Operations to provide logistical support & assist with festival prep.

  • Be currently enrolled as an UNDERGRADUATE student.
  • Be located in Austin for the duration of the internship.
  • Have at least 15 hours available Mon – Fri, plus evening / weekend flexibility for occasional year-round events.
  • Have increased / flexible availability for the two (2) full weeks prior to the festival (beginning May 18), including weekends.
  • Have FULL availability the week OF the festival (June 3 – 9, 2019).
  • Be able to provide your own transportation.
  • Be highly detail oriented and enjoy long-term / self-managed projects.
  • Have an overall interest in/appreciation for television and events!
  • Be willing to contribute ideas, problem-solve, and be creative!
