SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR

The Social Media Coordinator will help create a cohesive ATX TV brand presence across platforms, including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube (with a goal to start TikTok). They will work closely with the Programming and Operations teams to develop and implement successful social media campaigns year round and at ATX TV Festival (June 2-5, 2022), including but not limited to creating social media content + series, marketing + promotion of upcoming in person and virtual events, giving new life to pre-existing content, and engaging in on-going conversations with the ATX TV community across all platforms.

In addition, they will oversee analyzing metrics to foster community growth, engagement, and badge sales. This role is best suited for a creative and collaborative individual with strong communication skills and a passion for social media, who has the ability to adapt and strategize in a fast-paced environment.

This position requires a highly independent and communicative self-starter. Someone who takes initiative, creates projects, stays engaged and communicates progress to the team to achieve overall goals.
 

Weekly Responsibilities:

  • Copywriting, copy editing, scheduling and posting on behalf of ATX TV across various social platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube).
  • Starting and engaging in conversation across all platforms with the ATX TV community (attendees, panelists, press, partners) about current events happening in TV.
  • Engaging with ATX TV Members via Slack on current TV topics (ie. what they’re watching).
  • Working with Programming and Operations to create and draft ATX TV newsletters as needed.
  • Basic design of assets for various platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Newsletter).
  • Utilize photo and video archive to create social media content year round.
  • Work with partners and talent to capture content and create engagement during events.
  • Assist with management/release of YouTube content and grow YouTube subscriber base.


Festival Responsibilities:

  • Foster a lively and engaging social media presence on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok throughout the event.
  • Engage with ATX TV’s online festival community, partners, and talent across platforms.
  • Manage and collaborate with the Volunteer Team to capture, create and share quick-turnaround content throughout all four days.
  • Develop a schedule/strategy for capturing content on-site with talent and attendees throughout the event.
  • Support the marketing team with daily copywriting and copy editing responsibilities.
  • Track metrics and campaigns throughout the event and produce a post-festival report on overall performance and engagement. 


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Must have a genuine interest in TV and general knowledge of the current TV landscape.
  • 1-2 years previous experience in social media management / marketing.
  • Familiarity with social media scheduling platforms, metrics, etc.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop and Illustrator). Proficiency with Adobe Premiere a plus.
  • Excellent writing, copy editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Reliable and able to execute tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Strong prioritization and organization skills.
  • Must be comfortable approaching and interacting with general attendees, panelists, volunteers, etc in a fast-paced/high-energy environment. 


Physical Requirements:

Frequently required to stand/walk for long periods of time during events. Manual dexterity is required for keyboard and computer use.


Location and Schedule:

  • ATX TV is operating remotely. While this may change in 2022, currently all employees/contract positions work from home (or at their chosen location). All positions are required to be available for remote meetings (via Zoom and phone) as well as occasional meetings in person at central locations (indoor/outdoor). 
  • This role is a contract position. 
    • Hours will vary depending on weekly projects and needs. As ATX TV Festival nears, amount of work and time needed will significantly increase and then decrease post-June.
    • Exact hours and times will be dependent on projects, events, and engagement. They will vary day-to-day depending on releases, announcements, calendar and promotional needs.

ATX TV Programming ranges from reunions, discussions on current favorites, and premieres of new series to intimate one-on-one conversations and large-scale panels, spotlighting talent from all areas of television. Our Events are places where industry and fans come to watch, talk, and experience TV together both virtually and in person.
