How to Festival

We work hard to make sure that all ATX TV Events, including the Festival, are safe, respectful, inclusive, and fun environments for TV lovers from around the world. We know that y’all enjoying being a part of ATX TV because it’s an awesome, laid back community of TV nerds that feel truly at home at TV Camp.

To keep our TV Camp vibe, here’s our basic rule of engagement: Be cool.

So be cool when you spot our Panelists out and about during the Festival. ATX TV Panelists are TV fans just like you, watching and talking about their work and favorite shows with other TV fans. Feel free to chat with them about the series you just watched, or a series (other than theirs) that you like, but do not ask for them to sign an enormous stack of pictures, or crowd, or swarm them - especially as we try to be mindful of comfort levels with social distancing.

We’d also like you to be cool while interacting with other folks at the festival. While you, our wonderful attendees, are overwhelmingly friendly, patient, and accommodating — we ask that regardless of how popular the event or how great the excitement, you treat your fellow festival-goers with kindness. Same goes for our amazing Volunteers – they’re TV fans just like you, and work incredibly hard to make your festival experience one to remember!

In addition, as we return to an in person festival, we want to acknowledge that while we all have a responsibility to our community, everyone has a different risk tolerance. Face masks are welcome, but are not required in Festival spaces. We would like to remind you to respect the decision of those who wear masks. Be cool, y’all.

The ATX TV Code of Conduct applies to all ATX TV events, virtual and in person (including ATX TV Festival), all our physical venues, and anyone who engages with our social media channels or virtual spaces. All ATX TV participants, including but not limited to attendees, staff, panelists, press, vendors, and volunteers will be held to the same standards.

If you engage with anyone in a disrespectful or inappropriate manner, or do not adhere to our Code of Conduct, we reserve the right to immediately remove or ban you from any ATX TV event or platform, without refund (if applicable).

Please take a minute to review the ATX TV Code of Conduct before you attend any ATX TV Event.

All seating at ATX TV is first-come, first-served (no assigned seats).

Attendees are not guaranteed a seat in any screening/panel or access to any event, only admission up to capacity (except in the case of Camp Badges attending the Evening Marquee Event at the Paramount Theatre, provided they arrive at least 20 min. prior to the scheduled start time and line up in the Fast Pass Line). Badgeholders with a Fast Pass MUST be in line no later than 20 min. prior to the scheduled start time in order for their Fast Pass to be valid.

ATX TV Attendees will be let into screenings and panels in the following order:

  1. ATX TV Panelist & Sponsor Badges
  2. ATX TV Badges with Fast Pass reservations (if applicable) + Guest Tickets
  3. Remaining Camp, GP, Press, Industry, and Volunteer Badges
  4. Single Tickets (available only for select events are ACL Live, the Paramount & Stateside Theatres)

If there are seats available in panels/screenings, late arrivals will be allowed at the discretion of ATX TV Staff and Venue Managers – due to various circumstances, late seating may be deemed too distracting to audiences and panelists.

To help you have the best festival ever, as a Badgeholder, you have access to our Fast Pass reservation system to help secure seats to the Panels / Screenings you’re the most excited about.

The Fast Pass and Micro Programming Lottery was open May 22 at 12 PM CT through May 25 at 12 PM CT, and all Fast Passes and Micro Programming selections have been assigned.

Fast Passes don’t take up the whole theater/venue capacity - only about a third of a venue can be reserved in the Fast Pass System, thus if you didn’t get a Fast Pass to something, NEVER FEAR! You can still attend!

During the Lottery, Badgeholders had the chance to submit their Panel and Screening preferences, and after some impressive data crunching, Fast Passes were assigned one at a time to give each Badgeholder their highest available selections. Most Badgeholders have access to three (3) Fast Passes, but Camp Badges have access to five (5) Fast Passes.

If you have a Fast Pass for a Panel or Screening, you MUST arrive 20 minutes prior to the scheduled start time in order to secure a seat. Don’t be tardy because if you arrive less than 20 minutes before the scheduled start time, your Fast Pass is voided.

We’ll have Q&As after each Screening and Panel, so pro tip, when thinking about what you’d like to ask, please make sure you actually ask a question and stay away from the non-questions, aka something that doesn't end in a question mark. For example - "I’m a writer/actor/producer/director as well, and I think that blah, blah, blah." Y'all. That's not a question, and thus, should not be part of a Q&A.

Austin and our TV Community are in the spotlight during Q&As, and all year we hear how wonderful and smart ATX TV audiences are. Also by keeping the questions short, smart, and to the point, we can get as many in as possible!

You’ll hear us harp on this a lot during the Festival because it’s important. Take care of yourself. Make sure to wear sunscreen and stay super hydrated. Keep an eye on the weather and dress appropriately.

We’ll try to keep you out of the heat as much as possible, but due to available space, some of our lines are located outside. So please be prepared and alert a volunteer or staff member if you need assistance. And please note that you are not able to take liquids into the Paramount Theatre or ACL Live, but you can bring an empty water bottle to refill once inside.
